Abstract :
A new generation of thermal imaging sensors based on charge-coupled devices (CCDs) is described, and their use in night vision systems is discussed. The advantages of custom analog CCD technology over the earlier digital approach and its noise performance are examined. Some military night vision systems are described.<>
