Abstract :
A parallel-line network is a reactive twoport consisting of two transmission lines paralleled at their input and at their output. Such networks can be used to match two impedances (over a narrow frequency range). This paper discusses what conditions the two impedances must fulfill if their matching network is realizable as parallel-line network. If the network is realizable, formulas are given to calculate the electrical length and the transmitted power of each line as function of the two impedances to be matched.
