Abstract
The calculation of magnetic flux distribution in a superconducting generator is the basis of design procedures. In this paper, a method is introduced to analyze the fields by means of the finite element method based on Fourier series expansion and the T-Ω method. The proposed method is applied to the 70 MW superconducting generator design, and the flux distributions due to the field and armature currents are evaluated. Also, the magnetic thrust force due to the rotor position is discussed
