Abstract
A new hybrid resonator antenna is proposed for dual-frequency operation in this letter. The proposed structure consists of a conical dielectric resonator (DR) and a pair of eccentric ring slots. The two ring slots are etched on the ground plane of the DR, and one of them is directly fed by a gap source, and the other one is excited by electromagnetic coupling between them. Furthermore, the two slots excite the DR to radiate. By adjusting the structure parameters, the DR operates at a higher band and the outside ring slot operates at a lower band, both radiating with similar radiation patterns.
