Abstract
The advantages of parallel processing systems (pp´s) are discussed, the mode of operation of Alternating Sequential/ Parallel Processors is explained and the time-reduction-ratio r which measures the effectiveness is defined. Matrix multiplication and a fault calculation procedure exemplify the use of the system and are in turn used to define low and high information-transfer methods.
