Design Considerations and Features for a Nuclear Power Plant Security System

Security has become a major consideration in the design and operation of nuclear power plants. This paper presents an approach to the design and installation of a plant security system in a nuclear power plant. It highlights the design considerations and features of the subsystems which comprise the total plant security system and the sequence of events from conception to final testing and acceptance of the system.
