Minnkota´s Program of Load Management: Seven Years in Review

Over the last seven years, Minnkota Power Cooperative and the twelve associated rural electric distribution cooperatives have developed a comprehensive program of load management. Major goals of substantial annual load factor improvement, furnishing low cost electrical energy, and conserving oil by the substitution of coal-derived electrical energy are being realized. Significant results to date and the practical considerations of controlling manageable loads are discussed in this paper.
