Abstract :
Turbogenerator models derived from standstill frequency response measurements may not be adequate for representing machine performance over a wide range of operating conditions, particularly if the machine rotor structure is complex due to the presence of a damper winding. This paper describes an identification technique which can be used to make such models more acceptable by modifying their parameters using measurements from on-line (on-load) frequency response test data. The identification technique is applied to the measurements made on two large turbogenerators.
