  • Abstract
The literature about information for organizational decisionmaking is widely scattered in a variety of journals and books. All such materials are pooled together and the materials are classified as falling into three distinct schools of thought: a) the classical school, b) the management science school, and c) the behavioral science school. The literature is then reviewed with special reference to the suitability of the materials in building up a conceptual framework for assessing information value in an organizational decisionmaking context. Study reveals that though of late there is awareness in the reported literature regarding the value aspects of information, a body of concepts needed for information evaluation in an organizational decisionmaking context is yet to be developed.
