Abstract
A general description is given, of the hydro-electric facility at the Harry S. Truman Dam and Reservoir near Warsaw, Missouri. The project incorporates pumped storage using the Lake of the Ozarks as its afterbay. The plant´s six units are the largest inclined-axis units yet installed by the Corps of Engineers, and were an attempt to find an economical low head hydro design. The combination of pumped storage and inclined-axis technology has resulted in some unique construction problems which are discussed at length. The facility is currently in the final stages of construction and testing and should be completed in 1980.
