  • Abstract
We present a novel approach for the stabilizing design of barrier function based linear model predictive control schemes. In contrast to existing works, the approach is based on polytopic terminal sets and a smooth approximation of the corresponding Minkowski functional. We prove asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system and discuss potential advantages of the proposed design procedure. The results are illustrated by means of a numerical example.
