Abstract :
A numerically based method is used for deriving an expression for the stress cone profile of termiated high voltage cables. The application to a compact 138 kV XLPEI cable with XLPE molded termination is demonstrated The profile expression is in terms of the cable insulation radius and the specified maximum longitudinal electric stress at the profile.
