Abstract :
A novel lumped-parameter thermal model for induction machines that can be included in real-time applications is presented. The model considers just stator, rotor, and environment representative temperatures so that parameter estimation can be carried out. Thermal parameters are experimentally obtained and a sensorless vector control application with a 1-kW induction motor is included showing the effectiveness of the proposed solution.
