  • Abstract
One solution for the subsynchronous resonance phenomena known as "torsional interaction" is a controlled shunt reactor connected to the terminals of the affected generators. A device uising this technique is called the "Dynamic Stabilizer". This paper develops a mathematical model of the subsynchronous resonance phenomena and the action of the Stabilizer. It includes a numerical example to illustrate the equations and provides information on required equipment ratings and control settings.
