Abstract :
Statistical methods are applied to analyze metered heat-pump and total household loads for residential dwellings. The metered loads are combined with other information about the household to study usage patterns. Equipment energy use is a function of various determining factors, and statistical methods are appropriate to reveal the underlying functional relationships. A consequence of this approach is that extensive information on households should be gathered whenever metering studies are performed in order to facilitate econometric analysis of the data
