Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) Control Rooms: The Future is Now!

Over the past five years, many published references have been made to nuclear plants and "Control Rooms of the future". All of these references have stated there is a need for the application of human factors technology to the design of the "Control Room of the future". This paper will describe the design evolution and the methodology employed to apply human factors technology in a Control Complex now installed in a nuclear power plant. That "future" is now!
