Abstract
Electrical induction on a long fence in parallel with a typical ±400 kV HVDC transmission line under fault conditions is studied. The system is represented in detail by a digital computer program. The effect of factors such as fence location, fault location, fault resistance, number of fence wires, number of grounding points, and reflection of traveling waves is considered.
