Abstract :
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has installed a permanent display of historical photographs and other memorabilia in the lobby of its headquarters building at 111 N. Hope St. The pictures and exhibits tell the story of the development of water and power in Los Angeles from pueblo to metropolis. The vision of William Mulholland, who sparked development of the water system, and Ezra F. Scattergood, who led the growth of the power system, enabled Los Angeles to become the second largest city in the United States.
