Abstract :
This paper presents a modified-version of the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm to overcome the ill-conditioning problem due to poor metering strategy in power system state estimation. The aim is to obviate the ill-condition permanently by high-lighting the most sensitive points where additional meterings are necessary. Digital simulation results are presented on an ill-conditioned metering structured power system. The algorithm can be extended to cover the case of preventing estimator failure due to telecommunication breakdown.
