Abstract :
This paper describes an instrumentation system used to acquire data on the effects of steep front short duration voltage impulses on electric power system insulations and equipment. The instrumentation arrangement, shielding and performance experiences are applicable to researchers who need to meter high voltage, high frequency transients. This research work is sponsored in part by the Office of Energy Storage and Distribution of the Department of Energy (DOE).
