Abstract
Mobile Wireless Sensor Network (MWSN) is a self-configuring network. This network is a collection of wireless mobile nodes with sensing capability. The sensing mobile nodes communicate with each other without any infrastructure. Movement of mobile nodes results in a change in routes, requiring some methods for determining new routes. Several routing protocols have already been proposed for mobile sensor networks. In this paper, performance analysis of Location Aided Routing (LAR) protocol is carried out by considering Random Waypoint Model for mobile node scenario. This mobility model is used to imitate the movement pattern of nodes. The simulation model of mobile wireless sensor network has been done using Qualnet 6.1 network simulator. The performance metrics such as throughput, average end-to- end delay and average jitter of LAR protocol are evaluated by varying the number of mobile nodes, speed and pause time of mobile node.
