Abstract :
Need for sophisticated automotive electronics is increasing as per the customers demand for luxury, comfort and safety grows. In addition to this computational power of the microcontrollers, FPGAs and processors have also reached new heights forcing vehicle OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to modify their conventional vehicle networking architecture to handle large amount of data´s. This paper reviews traditional and latest vehicle network protocols and compares their performance, speed and its area of application.
