Abstract :
We have carried out investigation of the interference pattern that occurs during the passage of a Gaussian beam through a Michelson interferometer. This allowed finding the length measurement error due to diffraction divergence and wavefront curvature of the light beam. Conditions under which these errors are minimal were found.
