Abstract :
A description is given of an experimental television transmitter. This equipment was installed in the Empire State Building and was used in making practical tests on an experimental television system. The installation included facilities for radiating sound and picture signals from studio and from motion picture film. The general considerations underlying the design and performance of television terminal and transmitting apparatus for this experimental system are reviewed.
