Abstract :
Cache based vector quantization algorithms (CVQ) have been shown to be efficient in constant quality and fixed bit rate video transmission applications. However, real time implementation of CVQ requires an efficient implementation of a stack replacement policy such as the least recently used (LRU) algorithm. The authors present an FPGA implementation of the LRU algorithm in CVQ for video compression
