Abstract :
The W-VHS system has been developed on the basis of the VHS format as the specification for the next generation multi-purpose consumer VCR. The W-VHS system utilizes improved metal tape and a new recording method for recording and playing back both conventional TV and HDTV broadcasts. The article discusses the essential points of the W-VHS specifications and the signal processing technology
