Company strategy-a role for the electrical engineer?

In any company employing engineers there is likely to be an important role for a small number of them in helping to formulate corporate strategy. They will need wide knowledge of the company´s business and its technological background but do not need to be experts in every area, provided that they have a good range of internal contacts to call on. The engineering strategists must be capable of working closely with people from other disciplines, such as marketing and finance, and it is a bonus if they have had some experience or training in those areas
