Technique for Determining Early Retirement of Distribution Transformers

The calculation and evaluation of losses on electric utility systems are given increasing priority in decision making today because of the real increases in operating and plant costs, the importance of higher efficiency, and the continuing developments in various design technologies. This paper describes a method of analyzing the economic effects of the early retirement of distribution transformers considering the lower loss units available today.
