Abstract :
Heat-shrinkable components have been used for over ten years to splice polymeric and non-draining paper- insulated cables. This paper addresses extending the use of heat-shrinkable components and technology for joining migrating oil paper cable to polymeric cable, paper cable joints, and the technical obstacles that must be resolved.
