Abstract
Blood glucose level in the human body is regulated by the pancreas through the production of a harmone namely insulin through a negative feedback system. For patients with critical illness of diabetes mellitus continuous treatment is provided in intensive care units. Although model based technique is used for controller development by many researchers the current research on intelligent controller able to adjust to changes in patient glucose. It is desirable to develop efficient model based control techniques to yield accurate insulin dose for the desirable closed-loop performance. This work shows better set point tracking using model reference adaptive control is presented. The design of controller and simulation were done using simulink tools.
