Abstract :
This paper presents a fast digital method of restoring high voltage impulse which is distorted by the divider system. This difficult problem is solved using a deconvolution algorithm designed for real time applications. Much emphasis is laid on validation of the method, which was performed by comparing measurements of both input and output of the voltage divider in an experimental set-up. A systematic study performed with a wide range of voltage dividers helped to define practical rules for algorithm parameter selection. The restoration method is not computation consuming and, if systematically used, it might make hard-to-optimize divider design unnecessary.
