Abstract :
A Compact Asymmetric Coplanar Strip (ACS) fed antenna for dual band operation is presented. The antenna resonating at two different frequencies around 2.5GHz and 5.8GHz covering the LTE/WLAN/RFID bands. The dual band characteristic of the antenna is due to the various perturbed current paths excited in the radiating structure. The antenna has an overall dimension of 35×5.75mm2 when printed on a substrate of dielectric constant 4.4 and loss tangent 0.02. The planar design, simple feeding and compactness make it easy for the integration of the antenna into circuit boards. Details of the antenna design simulated results are presented and discussed. Simulation tool, based on the method of moments (Mentor Graphics IE3D version 15.10)has been used to analyze and optimize the antenna.
