Abstract :
A block-oriented digital simulation package is proposed to aid instruction and research in control of electric drives, power systems, and power electronic circuits. The package runs on any IBM or compatible (XT or better) personal computer with 512 kbytes of RAM. The software tool consists of several pre-defined blocks stored in a library; these blocks can be called from the library and interconnected as required, based on the mathematical model of the system to be simulated. In this manner, the digital software package works similarly to an analog computer with the capability of hybrid operation. Two examples are presented to give some insight into the applicability and usefulness of the program in instruction and research
