Abstract :
A new approach is presented, based on marginal cost methods, for solving the deterministic hydro-scheduling problem. The original dynamic scheduling problem is converted to a resource allocation problem. Several trajectory constraint rules are developed to guarantee the feasibility and optimality of the solution. The basic method is extended to multi-reservoir scheduling problems. These methods are shown to be very computationally efficient.
