Abstract :
The filter response of higher order series coupled microring resonators was improved by the selective ultraviolet (UV) trimming of resonant wavelengths of individual microrings. The peak transmittance was increased by 13 dB and the crosstalk was reduced by 18 dB for quadruple series coupled microring filter. We also demonstrated narrow channel spacing microring filter array with identical round-trip length by selective UV trimming.
