Abstract
This paper presents methods used in the design of precise coaxial cable simulation networks for digital line repeaters. The insertion loss of the longest simulated cable varies between 5 and 54 dB from 2.7 to 275 MHz. The design combines classical
synthesis, precise modeling and optimization techniques. Success depends on systematic minimization of and design with unavoidable parasitic capacitances.
