Abstract :
Limit cycles in a two-dimensional first-order digital filter are analyzed. Sufficient conditions for the nonexistence and sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of limit cycles in the filter are derived. The limit cycles are of the two-dimensional degenerate type. Periods and an upper bound on the magnitudes of the limit cycles are also presented.
