Abstract :
In this paper, we propose two new precoders for the multiple-input-multiple-output interfering broadcast channels (MIMO-IBC). In contrast to the common mean-square-error (MSE) based precoders such as the min-max sum-MSE and min sum-MSE precoders, the proposed precoders aim at balancing on the two design objectives by minimizing the maximum sum-MSE of all cells (type-1) and minimizing the maximum sum-MSE of all mobile stations (MSs) in each cell (type-2), respectively. It is shown that the formulated problems can both be solved by iterating between an MMSE solution and a solution to a second-order-cone-programming (SOCP) problem. Simulation results verify that the proposed algorithms can trade-off between the system performance and the individual fairness, and can provide more flexibility in system design comparing to the existing MSE precoders.
