Abstract
Unintentional islanding of distributed generators is considered undesirable since it exposes the personnel and the power equipment to high voltage through back energisation. Two new anti-islanding schemes for synchronous-machine-based distributed generators are proposed. The principles and design guidelines for the two new schemes are provided, and their effectiveness is validated by illustrative simulation examples conducted in PSCAD. The new proposed methods are reliable, robust to other non-islanding disturbances, and easy for implementation.
