Abstract :
A new approach for estimation and modelling of layered motion vector fields for fully scalable video coding (SVC) is presented. Motion vector fields are evaluated according to their impact on the overall reconstruction error. This strategy leads to improved decoding performance when compared with previous methods for layered motion modelling in SVC.
