Abstract
Digital computer programs, developed by Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), for determination of revenue requirements for economic evaluation of distribution automation are described. Input requirements and typical output results are described for a part of the PSE&G distribution system using four types of financial analysis: continuing plant, short term, year-by-year, and break even. The programs are an integral part of the methodology for the evaluation of approximately 40 distribution automation functions and subfunctions. They provide economic results based on user input of necessary benefit, equipment requirement, economic factor and other distribution system characteristic information. Economic evaluation summaries are described to illustrate development of necessary data for economic evaluation.
