Abstract :
DC converter stations produce high levels of carrier frequency noise which can cause harmful interference to power-line carrier and open-wire carrier systems. The types of interference and coupling mechanisms are described. Calculation and measurement techniques and several suitable remedial measures are discussed. The app used on various HVdc projects are briefly described. Typical costs of carrier frequency filters are stated.
