Abstract :
This paper presents an intelligent and low cost microcontroller based online method for real time condition monitoring of aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Remaining useful life of aluminum electrolytic capacitors in number of hours is obtained by implementing the known life calculation algorithm without removing capacitor from inverter circuit. The capacitors lifetime data is continuously monitored and stored. A warning text message is send to user mobile as the capacitor is approaching towards the end of its useful life and auto shut down of circuit occurs by receiving text message from the user end.
