Abstract :
In this paper, a pseudo noise (PN) sequence is generated using the features of one-dimensional chaotic system, such as a logistic map. The logistic map based scheme is applicable for use with wireless networks because the chaotic nature makes it resilient against stochastic variations and requires simplistic measures to generate the sequence. The proposed PN sequence generation method is used as spreading sequence in a Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum Modulation (DS-SSM) in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh channels. The method is found to be reliable and is robust against random variations observed in wireless channels. Also, the performance of the scheme is compared against that of existing techniques. Results from a comparative analysis indicate that the proposed method generally yields enhanced performance in a range of conditions considered for the work.
