Abstract
The performance of two commonly used soil resistivity measurement techniques in theoretical two-layer soil conditions has been extensively analyzed and the results are described and discussed. The behavior of the Wenner four-pin method and the driven rod method for the same soil conditions are illustrated in several graphs. The results demonstrate that there is a predicable relationship between the measurements obtained by these two methods. This relationship is summarized in several graphs which may be used for design purposes. Finally, it is shown that this relationship must be considered when it is planned to install ground rods based on. resistivity measurements obtained by the four-pin test method.
