Abstract :
The design of exponential D/A converters using the nonlinear I_{C}(V_{BE}) characteristic of bipolar transistors is analyzed. It is shown that if the errors of all possible sources are compensated or kept small, converters with a good relative accuracy and an extremely large dynamic range can be built.
