Abstract :
Advances in the state of the art applicable to electronic controls make possible continuing enhancements in these products. The use of microprocessor based digital techniques is the latest advance in a long continuing evolution of products dedicated to the control of step-voltage regulators or load tapchangers on transformers. The fundamental nature of a digital design facilitates enhancement of the product relative to an analog counterpart. Specific notable design procedures are reported. Routine application of the resulting product is shown to be feasible based on test results.
