Abstract :
The incorporation of nonlinear load models in the transient energy function method is discussed. A procedure is developed to determine the stable equilibrium point and the controlling unstable equilibrium point in the presence of nonlinear loads. The transient energy function is also modified to reflect the effects of the nonlinear loads. The procedure is then tested on two power systems. The results compare favorably with time simulation results
