Abstract :
To determine whether composite overhead ground wire containing optical fibers can withstand extreme field conditions, mechanical and electrical tests were conducted on two types of composite wire. The performance of the composite units surpassed that of an existing overhead ground wire, confirming the feasibility of using them as combined ground wires and communication links.
