Abstract :
A compact quartzless structure is proposed for polarisation-insensitive optical quasi-circulators. Quartz is eliminated by using two different materials, YIG and GBIG in a Faraday rotator. The signs of their Faraday rotation coefficients are reversed. The length of the prototype is only half that of the conventional design for equally high isolation values
